COASTAL NAVIGATION
There are no prerequisites to this home study course which will enable one to demonstrate the navigational theoryrequired to safely navigate a sailing vessel in coastal or inland waters. There is no Sailing Skills part to this standard and practical application of this Sailing Knowledge is found in the Advanced Coastal Cruising Standard
ADVANCED COASTAL CRUSING
Prerequisites are Basic Keelboat Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering and Coastal Navigation Certification.
This course will enable one to safely act as skipper and crew of a sailing vessel up to 50 feet in length in coastal and inland waters in any conditions. Topics covered to include heavy weather sailing precautions, night sailing and night watches, day and night navigation, tricky anchorages, engine and other systems trouble shooting, and spinnaker handling.
